As part of your arrival assessment, the bike paint condition will be assessed as for enhancement or correction and enhancement.
While most paintwork issues are obvious we may need to check with an electronic paint gauge and/or microscope to assess the paintwork condition.
Any additional cost to correct badly damaged paintwork will be discussed with you.
In most cases a single stage enhancement will remove 80-85% the surface damage, swirl marks etc., so that the coating will create a mirror finish.
In most cases the paintwork condition will not require a correction stage .
This task is when we will use various machines to cut slightly deeper into the paint lacquer surface and then perform an enhancement stage to complete the process.
As part of the assessment of the paint thickness & general bodywork condition, we may suggest remediation work.
This may be down to the depth and type of damage or that the paintwork is no longer 'thick' enough for use to correct.
We will suggest or can collaborate with a smart repair technician or paint shop as required.
Unfortunately the industry standard is to quote the duration of the protection, in months/years.
For a motorbike 1 year = 4-5000 miles or 6-8 washes (less if unapproved & harsh chemicals are used).
The reality is that it will depend on numerous things:
A full wash, decontamination, preparation & coating, applied to the whole bike will take a minimum of one working day and an overnight stop to ensure that the coating has cured sufficiently to allow it to travel.
You can ride it straight away, but will have to abstain from washing for at least 7 days to allow the coating to fully cure.
