Introduction to Detailing day
After a lot of soul searching, I decided to go on a one day introduction to car detailing.
I choose JDS Detailing (Autobead) and had a really enjoyable day, even with the wet weather.
James walked us through their products and the process from start to finish, for car deep cleaning, paint correction and coating.
Motorbike detailing course
Since I'm a biker at heart, I went on an intensive 1-2-1 motorbike detailing course, to become an accredited CFC detailer.
I spent the day with Richard at Cheeky Monkeys (CFC Wales) and again had a really enjoyable day, even with the wet weather (a bit of a theme here...) Richard took me through the nuances of bike vs car detailing, went through the CFC products and the process from start to finish, for deep cleaning and coating motorbikes.
Intensive detailing course
I spent a week at the SONAX UK Academy, so that I could go into greater depth the nuance's and finer details of the car detailing process and to become an accredited SONAX detailer.
Chris took us from initial vehicle review, preparation, and stages to achieve the final product ready for handover. We went over the types of paints, their make up and how to visually and electronically inspect them. types of tools required to run a detailing shop. The use of chemicals based on where they sit in the PH range,....I could go on but its probably best to pop in for a coffee to ask more.
Chris also gave us a great understanding of the company, it's motor racing history, it's ethos and their range of eco friendly products.
FYI yes the weather was terrible...
